Well color me blushy, I am all kinds of flattered that some of you thought my Lucky 7 Hat was worth actual fundage! But please! Like I'd charge you good yarn money for that. Go buy yourself something pretty instead.
Me, I like free. And so, these patterns shall be. And... uh... that's all the rhyming I got in me right now. So nice! I see rows for the hat. Does that mean straight needles? Asking because I do not see that there is any seaming in the finishing. So is this pattern for circular or straight needles?

I just finished the left mitt, my first attempt at cables. I wanted something to fill in the gaps in my coat for the Chicago winter so I made it a little longer by repeating the first cable. And even with just one done, my friends all want a pair. Thanks for the pattern, and thanks for the extra details!

Since I'm making the fold-up brim version, do I cast on 84, knit 23 rows of ribbing, then proceed to "Noggin?" I assume I then move on to "Crown." I hope I'm doing this right, 'cause I've already started.

Thank you so much for the patterns! I found the mitt's on Ravelry and loved the picture, decided to give them a try, come to your page and find the lovely hat! I have been looking for more than a month for a hat that I really liked to make for myself! We are going to have a very cold and snowy winter (so they say and so far are right!) this year, and I really needed a hat!

Hi there on the pattern for the mitt envy how many stitches did you put on each needle and which needle did you place the cable stitches. I am going to make these and i am still fairly new at knitting. Thanks blondie63
I am fairly new at knitting and have never knit fingerless gloves before. I am on left mitt, fourth repeat, row 6 where it says transfer 21 stitches to waste yarn for thumb stitichs. I have only picked up 13 stitches. I want back in the pattern and counted one in the first repeat, 8 in the second and third repeat, and 4 in the fourth repeat. Where did I go wrong? Sharon

Just a simple thank you for the Mitt Envy pattern. It is very well written making it fast and easy to knit. I used the Regia Design Line sock yarn in jewel tones and knitting just one pair is not enough! You are something special to share your talents with so many of us. You didn't specify which pattern you were referring to, but I'm guessing it's the Mitt Envy? If the 4-ply is fingering weight sock yarn, then yes, that would work just fine. In order to size it down, you might try reducing the number of stockinette stitches before and after the cable section.

Hello. I downloaded your pattern, Mitt Envy, from the Ravelry site, and I have started knitting... However I now have a problem. I don't know what you mean when you say "Slip marker".
e.g. "Knit all stitches to marker, slip marker, K8, P1, K12, P1 K to end."
It probably seems obvious to you, :) but unfortunately it's not obvious to me.
Hoping for enlightenment.

In the pattern, you place a stitch marker so you know which stitches are for the thumb gusset. So you will knit all the stitches to the marker, then slip the marker from the left needle to the right needle, then K8, etc.

Maybe this is a dumb ? but shouldn't there be 2 markers to slip, one for each side of the thumb? If so where do I put the 2nd one???? Thanks. I'm excited about getting started.
Hi Anonymous - you didn't leave an email address or other way to contact you, so I hope you come back to check this! The thumb placement on the mitts is at the beginning of a row or end of a needle, so you shouldn't need a second stitch marker. Hope that helps!
Thanks so much for the pattern. Is there anything I should amend if I am using a DK weight (I will do a swatch to work out needle size). I am using mad tosh dk (to match a scarf in the same yarn)
I thought my comment would appear after your mitt pattern but in case it does not, that is what I was referring to, when I said I wanted to use DK weight.
